Legend has it that in 1637, King Charles I, owed his tailor a lot of money and being unable to pay, seeded land from the Duchy of Lancaster to settle his account. The plot of land became known as the Duchy Rag.  The original house dates from the early 19th Century and has now been extended and modernized to provide accommodation of the highest standard with a combination of contemporary and traditional design.  Duchy Rag House incorporates those things we consider important like good showers, comfortable beds and areas to relax, with access to outside terraces in summer – in fact the things we look for when we are traveling. From the moment you walk through the front door into the hall with its open fire you will start to relax. We aim to create a haven for the leisure and business traveller alike in our stylish bedrooms, private dining room and drawing room. We want your stay to be a relaxed one. This is an alternative, soul filled place where you can expect a warm welcome and a bit of home from home.  We can even provide toiletries if you have forgotten anything.

Duchy Rag House is set in Leigh. Free WiFi is offered. The bed and breakfast offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hair dryer and shower. A continental breakfast can be enjoyed at the property. Duchy Rag House offers a terrace. Guests can relax in the garden at the property. Bath is 39 km from the accommodation.
