Chestnuts is a very unusual building. It has been many things in the past, but started life as a large and quite grand Georgian house. When you visit , go to the front of the building and stand back and look. You will see the original house hiding behind the shop fronts. Come in and you will see the older parts of the building with its sloping door frames and 18 inch thick stone walls. These walls give you the quiet and privacy from the many visitors who throng to Bourton on the Water in the summer months. Come in and you will find that although you really are right in the centre of the village, once you enter Chestnuts you are entering a little haven of peace and tranquillity.
